#Sheros #GirlPower – Seeing the Her in Hero – Heroines who can save themselves

Girl Power - Sheros

Girl Power

There is something very appealing about a heroine who doesn’t waste energy on empty emotions such as hoping and wishing things will improve, but instead looks for opportunities to improve her own chances to succeed.

My favourite fiction heroines include:

  1. Vanessa Lutz, played by Reese Witherspoon in the film – FREEWAY – the film plot resembles the fairy-tale of Little Red Riding Hood – but with attitude!

This heroine goes her own sweet way with practiced practicality, and silences the wolf’s howl in the process.

2. Beatrix Kiddo, played by Uma Thurman in the films KILL BILL by Quentin Tarantino

Through adversity this heroine is forced to find inner strength and reclaim her identity.

3. Sarah Connor, played by Linda Hamilton in the film TERMINATOR 2.

Knowing the ultimate fight for human preservation is due, this shero is driven by protection and preparation as a safeguard.

Sheros remind us empowerment lies within ourselves, not outside. The individual has the power to change herself. Instead of looking at ways to improve others who don’t want to be changed into someone else’s vision of what is good for them.

Do you have a favourite shero?
